Transforming Education: Bomi Community College Hosts Groundbreaking ECD Workshop

Bomi Community College, in partnership with the National Bomi County Association in the Americas, hosted an Early Childhood Education (ECD) Workshop for Teachers on January 24, 2025. This initiative brought together educators and experts from Liberia and the U.S. to equip teachers with innovative classroom strategies. Facilitators included Madam Anastasia Simmonds Caphart (TCG Inc.), Eddie
Walker, III (Educational Achievement, LLC), and Dr. Chris Tokpa (Center for Research, Evaluation, and Policy). They provided insights into modern teaching methods, classroom management, and strategies to create engaging learning environments.

The workshop aimed to improve teaching outcomes by introducing effective strategies, fostering student
engagement, and promoting classroom cooperation and respect. Educators participated in interactive discussions and hands-on activities designed to enhance learning experiences. The events included a welcome remarks from Dr. Boima Bernard, Jr. (VPAA) and an overview from Dr. Zobong B. Norman (President, Bomi Community College). Training sessions focused on practical approaches to
child-centered education and creating a positive classroom atmosphere. The workshop marks a vital step in improving early childhood education in Liberia. Continued collaboration from stakeholders, policymakers, and community leaders is essential for lasting progress. Bomi Community College extends gratitude to all facilitators and partners.
