Anastasia Simmonds - Caphart Founder/CEO Executive Director
Anastasia Simmonds-Caphart is a retired, licensed Early Childhood Educator and former National Board Certified Teacher with decades of experience teaching in public, private, and parochial schools across the United States and Liberia.
As the founder and Executive Director of Teacher Consultant Group, Inc. (TCG), established in 2009, Anastasia leads initiatives that support children, families, and educators from diverse backgrounds. Through TCG, she provides professional development for early childhood teachers in Liberia and offers online writing and enrichment programs for young learners in the United States.
Anastasia holds a Specialist degree in Instructional Technology and a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University, a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Liberia, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts from Ricks Institute Junior College.
Passionate about creating environments where children can thrive, Anastasia brings a deep understanding of the challenges educators face when working with culturally and linguistically diverse learners and remains committed to advancing education in emergency contexts.
Dr. Marilyn Grigsby - CFO/VP Chief Financial Officer
Dr. Marilyn Grigsby is a passionate and experienced early childhood educator with advanced degrees in Early Childhood Education and a bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Liberia. Her journey began in daycare and elementary teaching in Monrovia, where she developed a deep commitment to supporting children’s holistic growth. Driven by a belief in the transformative power of education, Dr. Grigsby fosters inclusive, nurturing environments that honor each child’s individuality. She is dedicated to building educational communities that inspire curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Joyce Witherspoon - VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Joyce Witherspoon is a Lead Volunteer and experienced early childhood educator .Volunteers are pivotal to what we do. Cherika “Cher” Ferguson is a journalist, mentor, and media professional dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through education and storytelling. With extensive experience in K-12 education, she has worked directly with students and educators, developing innovative programs that foster growth, engagement, and social-emotional learning.
As the founder of The Hottest Hour LLC, Cher produces podcasts, media content, and educational initiatives that inspire, inform, and connect diverse audiences. Her work bridges the worlds of education and media, using creativity and communication to make a lasting impact on the communities she serves.
Daniel E. Barclay - VP Research & Development & Training
Daniel E. Barclay earned a Post Doctoral Certificate in Rural Development and Policy from Sussex University in Brighton, UK, a PhD in Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in the USA, and a Bachelor of Science in Education (Secondary Education) from the University of Liberia.
