A Child’s Dream, A Nation’s Future “The Story of Little Gracious and her friend Felecia”

A Child’s Dream, A Nation’s Future “The Story of Little Gracious and her friend Felecia”

During Ms. Simmonds Caphart’s visit to Liberia in May 2024, Little Gracious Momoh of Jackson Foundation School emotionally posed a question to the TCG in her Liberian parlance: “Wetin you will do for our school?”- which translates to “What are you going to do for our school?” Although she did not
live to see her dream come true, her question sparked a movement that revolutionized the campaign to transform her school with classrooms that are conducive for learning. Another student, in a similar call, Little Felecia, also appealed to TCG to support her school with learning materials.

In response, Madam Simmonds of the TCG assured the students that her organization and some generous individuals and group have already begun the process of shipping school materials. She
informed both students and teachers that there are wonderful people in the USA collecting school materials to support schools in Liberia.
She also explained that these individuals are committed to ensuring that the learning environment is conducive for students. She further emphasized that classrooms should be designed and decorated in a
way that promotes learning and happiness among students. Little Gracious’ words echoed far beyond those crumbling walls. Though Gracious did not live to see the transformation she envisioned,
her question sparked a movement. It became a cry for change, inspiring a renewed effort to ensure that children like her have the education they deserve. Thanks to the generosity of donors, progress has been
made; and Felecia is seeing her dream and that of her deceased friend little Gracious become a reality as their classroom has been transformed.

Schools have received much-needed furniture and supplies, bringing hope to students eager to learn. With your support, we can ensure that children like Gracious and Felecia will have safe, well-equipped
classrooms where they can dream, learn, and build a better future. Let us honor their voices and turn their hopes into reality. Join us in strengthening education by investing in better classrooms, essential learning materials, and a brighter tomorrow for a Liberian child.
